Exam tracks

Preparation for specific goals

Start with the credential you’re pursuing. Each track is designed to organize the exam domains into a practical sequence of lessons, review, and timed practice.

CFA Program: Levels I–III

Build investment knowledge from foundational tools to applied valuation and portfolio decisions. The planned sequence will map lessons, practice, and revision to the learning outcome statements and current topic weights.

  • Level I: ethics, quantitative methods, economics, financial statement analysis, corporate finance, equities, fixed income, derivatives, alternatives, and portfolio construction. Emphasize definitions, core calculations, and interpreting fundamental investment tools. The exam has two 135-minute sessions.
  • Level II: apply the broad topic set to valuation and case analysis. Twenty-two vignette item sets contain 88 multiple-choice questions; candidates connect financial statement details, market context, and valuation methods. The exam has two 132-minute sessions.
  • Level III: integrate asset allocation, portfolio construction, performance measurement, derivatives and risk, and ethics. The mixed format combines item sets with constructed response sets. Candidates choose a Portfolio Management, Private Markets, or Private Wealth pathway.

The current curriculum weights topics differently at each level. A future WebNovare course should use the candidate’s exam year and official curriculum because CFA Institute updates the curriculum.
